Jonathan Kronheimer

Jonathan Kronheimer is currently a Regular Member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.

‘A native of Newton, Massachusetts, Jonathan began studying oboe at age eight at the All Newton Music School with Jane Harrison. Before attending Oberlin, he participated in the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras for eight years, and was a member of the National Youth Orchestra of the USA during the Summer of 2019 for the group’s tour of Europe.

During his time at Oberlin, he joined the quintet now known as ZaRiah, and was a winner of the Oberlin Senior Concerto Competition. He has played with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago since 2023. His teachers include Mark McEwen, Robert Walters, and William Welter.
